Every aspect of the anode assembly will have an influence on the shape of the tube loading curve, The diameter, thickness, composition, speed of rotation, will all mould the shape of one part or the other of the curve. The anode shown here, is quite small in diameter, but rather thick. Using the same weight of tungsten, the diameter could be increased, and the thickness reduced. If one were to change thye design in this way, the maximum kilowatt loading at short exposure times would be increased, (up to 100mS.) but the loading at longer exposure times (~1sec.) would be reduced. At the same time, the rate at which the anode cooled would increase, because of the larger surface area.
